Four tracks for Tuesday
Four tracks by Hakushi Hasegawa from Japan and Slikback from Kenya Moruka from Korea and Aphex Twin from the UK

Boss-Moire-FS Hakushi Hasegawa · Honest Feeling Album (2026)
On Honest Feeling Album, Hakushi Hasegawa digitally reworks performances by the band HaHa and the Hairpins. Boss-Moire-FS brings together saxophone, finely chopped rhythms and a tofubeats vocal that has been compared to sports commentary. What happens after recording is more interesting than the band credit alone. The playing itself becomes material to cut and edit, blurring the distinction between band and electronic sound. The question is how those recorded performances take shape through editing, as well as who played which instrument.

Taped Slikback · Attrition (2025)
Taped appears on Attrition, the Slikback album released in July 2025. Fast rhythms at 160 bpm, bass and chopped voices make up the track. Fragments of voice sit against a broken pulse. Across Attrition, Slikback breaks familiar club sounds into fragments while keeping the music moving for the dance floor.

Vomit Moruka · My Fingerprints (2026)
On Vomit, from Moruka’s My Fingerprints, tiny pitch changes in a mechanical synth sound evoke retching. There is also the sound of a toilet flushing and vocal samples that alternate between left and right. In the track, these sounds become material for a dance rhythm. The music balances the discomfort of what the sounds suggest with the pleasure of dance music.

Vordhosbn Aphex Twin · Drukqs (2001)
Vordhosbn appears on Drukqs, the Aphex Twin album released on October 22, 2001. Fast, abrasive drums coexist with a wistful, sometimes dissonant tone. The review in weiv discusses Vordhosbn and Taking Control as combinations of ambient music and drill and bass. On Vordhosbn, the force of the rhythm and the mood of the tones have different characters. The tension between them matters alongside the construction of the complex beat.
